Quadrant Information Security’s SAGAN Product Named One of the Best in 2012 BOSSIE Awards
Quadrant Information Security announced today that its Open Source Security Event Management and Analyzer Application, SAGAN, has been named one of the Best Open Source Networking and Security Software in InfoWold’s 2012 Best of Open Source Software Awards. Each year, InfoWorld's BOSSIE awards recognize the best open source software for business. The BOSSIE award winners are selected by InfoWorld Test Center editors and reviewers and are based on user nominations. “This is a huge honor for our organization and we look forward to continuing our open source SAGAN project,” says Quadrant’s President, Ian Bush. “We put a lot of time and effort into developing our product and it is nice to be recognized by InfoWorld.”
SAGAN is a multi-threaded, real time Security Event Management and Analyzer Application, but with a twist. SAGAN uses a Snort-like rule set for detecting malicious traffic on a client’s network and/or enterprise data assets. Upon start-up, SAGAN contains over 2500 internally developed attack signatures that are used to detect and validate malicious activity. Quadrant Information Security’s SAGAN console allows for easy configuration and on-going management of a client’s deployment, providing clients with the peace of mind that their core assets are being protected.
